Shield
Buff is a color traditionally associated with both Quartermaster and Support Battalions. The water bouget refers to the unit's history when it was a fumigation and bath/supply and service battalion. The water bouget is an ancient heraldic charge which alludes to the bygone soldiers' method of carrying water to camp. The silver star highlights the five campaigns in which this unit participated. Blue, suggests the waters of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean and underscores the battalion's original place of activation, Vancouver, Washington.
Crest
The lion, tower with its five merlons, and the fleur-de-lis on the shield commemorate the unit's war service and lineage in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe. The lion is a symbol of strength and courage, its color, red, is the color of valor and sacrifice. The tower and shield signify defense and military preparedness.
